St Jean D'Aulps A beautiful village set in the heart of the vallée d'aulps, St Jean D'Aulps is a true hidden gem in the Portes-du-Soleil with it's own snowboard and ski area (Le Grand Terche) as well as having the benefit of being bus-linked into Morzine & Les Gets (just 10 minutes away). The village provides all the amenities you could wish for, with ski shops, supermarkets & gift shops, restaurants, and the legendary Bar National serving some of the worlds best pizzas! You're spoilt for choice when it comes to the mountains in St Jean D'Aulps. On the edge of the village is the 'Grand Terche' ski area, providing 20 km of pistes (4 green pistes, 5 blue, 10 red, and 1 black), served by a gondola, 3 chair lifts, and 10 draglifts. The area provides a tour of the magnificant 'Roc d'Enfer' (Rock of Hell!) and provides stunning views ranging from Mont Blanc to Lake Geneva. Even in the busiest of times, the area remains quiet, leaving unspoilt pistes and powder. Access to the rest of the 650km of the Portes-du-Soleil region is easily achieved by either jumping on the passing ski bus, or by car. The bus can take you to either Montriond, Morzine, or Les Gets, giving you easy access to any parts of the Portes-du-Soleil. If you fancy a livelier night out in the heart of Morzine it's easy to just grab a cab back to St Jean at the end of the night, just 10 minutes drive away. |
